Saving Money While Saving The Environment - October 31, 2005

The environment, which consists of our air, water and soil, is used by every living thing and especially all our vehicles and machines of all types and sizes.

Until I discovered Amsoil Inc.’s synthetic lubricants and how they reduce emissions and related problems associated with petroleum oils, it was a common assumption that there was no other option. One hundred percent synthetic engine oils, for example, will reduce emissions due to the absence of hydrocarbons. Fuel consumption is also reduced by amounts in the range of five percent. That’s welcome during these days of gasoline price increases on a daily basis. Oil change intervals are another strategy to reduce the need for disposal, as with petroleum. Petroleum oil users are under the Oil Change Interval requirement by most dealers to change their oils every 5,000 kms. Driving forty thousand kms. or one year, whichever comes first, before changing oil will make an impact on reduced demands on the environment. That has been my experience with a product options available by Amsoil Inc. using six litres and a couple of oil filters with synthetic lubricant instead of more than forty litres of petroleum and sixteen oil and air filters.

Propylene Glycol Antifreeze is also something car owners should use to reduce environmental pollution because, compared to ethylene glycol, it is not toxic not lethal when ingested by pets, fish of any living animal. You’ve heard about pet’s excruciating pain, wrenching in the grips of death after ingesting antifreeze? Let’s do Mother Earth a favor and use Propylene Glycol Antifreeze and 100% synthetic engine oil.

Rudy Hiebert, began using and selling Amsoil products and opportunities more than sixteen years ago. Amsoil Inc. has been manufacturing synthetic lubricants and related oil & air filtration technolgy products for more than thirty two years. It’s leadership and integrity has placed Amsoil Inc. as the leader in the lubricant industry. More information can be seen at lubedealer.com/hiebert lubedealer.com/hiebert

Cheap Moving Truck Rentals -

Moving truck rentals are generally most expensive during the summer. In the winter one can get the cheaper moving truck rentals. However, the cost usually depends mostly on the company and its location, as well as the quality of its service.

If you are moving within the town then it is advisable to hire a truck during a weekday rather than a weekend. This could make a significant difference in terms of rentals. Hiring a moving truck is more expensive during the weekends.

If you know your plan for moving well in advance, it is best to reserve a truck as early as possible. This booking can be done online, over the telephone or by making a personal visit. Generally, one gets a better price on bookings in advance. If you are a regular customer of the truck rental service then you might get a frequent-customer discount.

However, certain truck rental services charge hidden costs which wipe out any savings from the cheaper rentals. Check out these charges before making a final decision, even if the initial costs are quite low.

Cheap truck rentals are also offered on one-way trips nowadays. This is due to growing competition in the market. There are a number of companies which are able to reap economies of scale due to their large-scale operation. So they are often in a position to offer cheap moving truck rentals. Stop the Killing -

Another year has passed and yet another road toll statistic has been generated. World wide thousands of people are dieing each year on the roads. It makes 9/11, murders, and most other media worthy stories pale in comparison.

In the USA civil liberties still ensures that a higher than necessary road toll exists because of crazy laws in regards to police being able to intercept drivers. In most other countries RBT - random breath testing means all drivers can be tested at any time. The 30 second inconveience is a small price worth paying given the amount of the lives it can save. When RBT was brought into Queensland the road toll was HALVED. I would expect the same result in the USA. Given the real civil liberties that Americans has lost in relation to the war on terror with no real gains wouldn’t the US save more money and more lives if it invested the same time and money into road safety programs?

Here in Queensland the Qld government with the Queensland Police Service and Queensland Transport aimed to keep the states road toll beneath 300. Unfortunately in 2006 they failed. They are going to have another attempt in 2007. One of the first things that need to change it the concept of traffic crashes being “accidents”. Most traffic incidents are not accidents. Especially in the case of deaths four factors keep repeating - the fatal four as it is called - Alcohol, Speed, Not wearing seatbelts and Driver Fatigue.

You can increase you chances of keeping your family safe by never drinking and driving, keep to the speed limit, wearing your seatbelts and avoiding driving for too long a period especially in big countries like the USA, Australia, Canada, etc.

One of the other things that unfortunately has also increasing come into fashion is the practise of hooning. Suping up cars, modifying them and racing. Whether this is a result of films promoting this type of thing like the fast and furious or other reasons is irrelevant. As someone who has been to a fatal traffic incident scene I wish I could do the same for all young drivers to show them the serious irreversable consequences in a very graphic way.

Unfortunately as humans (me included) we only learn from our mistakes. At 18 I rolled a car in the wet and thankfully neither my friends or myself were injured (we were all wearing seat belts), it was then that I learnt motor vehicles aren’t toys and that they can be a deadlier weapon than a firearm in the wrong hands.

Lets this year bring down the road toll.
